gb Jewelry is solely own and operated by ginny benton. gb Jewelry is a direct to client custom jeweler, serving the local , national, and international clientele out of a small studio and workshop in the heart of Carytown in Richmond VA, USA. Working with both wholesale and retail customers. My clients come to me when they’re seeking a specialized skill set to complete their unique project. To the jewelry industry and trade members gb offers casting and jewelry manufacturing services including stone setting and jewelry finishing . gb also assists the public, welcoming those who are specifically searching for a unique custom piece of jewelry. Whether it be for a wedding or engagement , a gift for a loved one , or simply something for you that commemorates a special time in your life. Roots of gb aka Ginny Benton

1st generation jeweler, gb was born to be a jeweler . From age 3 to middle school she mined, inventoried and collected rocks and gemstones . By high school she had developed her own beaded jewelry inventory line and was selling her jewelry at art shows, coffeeshops, and home parties.

She received a BFA in Metals and Jewelry from S.C.A.D (Savannah College of Art and Design) in 2011. For the following 4 years gb apprenticed under two independant jewelers. The first apprenticeship was a silversmith shop in Savannah, GA. The second was a fine jewelry shop specializing in custom bridal in Richmond, VA.

gb Jewelry was dreamt up in 2015 and used as a brand identity when collaborating with other industries in creating one-of-a-kind art jewelry and fine sculpture. Over the years, these works of art debuted at various tradeshows in Vegas NV.

In 2016 gb graduated from Blane Lewis’s school for jewelers, New Approach, from the advanced stone setting program. 2018 gb Jewelry opened up a brick and mortar in Carytown shopping district Richmond VA. I serve my city and local jewelers’ jewelry needs, also serving out-of-state and international clients through mail, email, phone and video chat.

Why Custom Jewelry ?

Honestly, custom jewelry is just more interesting. Custom jewelry always different, and always has a story. Maybe its an heirloom gemstone passed down in one’s family to be repurposed in a new piece, maybe its a symbol that reminds someone of their partner, family bloodline, or even someone they have lost.

When art has a concept it’s genuinely better work. The same is true for jewelry , a concept behind a design makes for a better design. Jewelry is also something that is very sentimental to most people. It can have the power to tacitly transport you back to a memory or keep a loved one in your thoughts. Jewelry that has personalized symbolic meaning creates a bond between it and the wearer, making the love and appreciation for the work even greater. Everyone has a unique style , by creating a piece that is tailored to you it give the ability to reach more individuals crossing over trend and style boundaries. And at the end its truly rewarding to make someone something so special.

Where do you source your material?

GB jewelry is an ethical jewelry company. Great lengths are taken to vet a gemstone dealers where I obtain supplies for my customer’s projects.

* Diamond used are either heirloom/repurposed , certified GIA , and / or source from Canada .

*Sapphires , Tanzanites, and other fine gemstones bought direct from the mine , or vetted ethical gemstone dealers.

*Gold is sourced from fair trade vendors and recycled gold is used in every casting.
